What is the competition deadline schedule?
The competitions will now be quarterly, each competition will begin shortly after the end of the previous one.
Competition end dates will be:
- March 31
- June 30
- September 30
- December 31
Why should I enter?
Everyone likes a little publicity!
Posting on the site is yet another avenue to get your work seen, and possibly published:
- The top 25 entries to be featured in our “Illustrati Competition Series Magazine.”
- The top 5 submitters will have a full two page spread including a bio and photo.
Being published has lots of benefits:
- Boosts your morale and ego
- Gets you exposure
- And most importantly, provides you with a piece to use for self promotion.
How do you select the winner?
Selection is based on these 2 criteria:
- Design quality
- Quantity of votes
How much does it cost to enter?
This contest is ABSOLUTELY FREE!
Can I promote my design?
Definitely! Tell as many people as you can. Tell all your friends to come on over and vote for you.
We have provided social media buttons to make it easier to get the word out.
Each person is only allowed to vote for a submission once so every vote helps you get into the top 25!
Once the contest is over, and I’m in the top 25, then what?
The participants selected for the Illustrati Competition Series Magazine will be contacted and asked to submit hi-res versions of their winning submissions (the top 5 will be asked to submit a bio and photo in addition).
What happens once I uploaded my design?
All designs submitted are previewed by our panel.
A pre-screening is done to pick out the design that qualifies for posting into the Gallery for voting.
How long before I’m notified if my design is approved?
Please allow 24 – 48 hours for our panel to review the design.
Can I submit someone else’s work for voting?
Absolutely not. The Illustrati will not tolerate plagiarism.
The Artist will be held responsible for all artwork they submit. If you feel that an Artist violates someone else’s work please do not post your concern in our comment page, rather notify us here.
How many designs can I submit?
There is no limit as to how many designs you can submit. This will only increase any participant’s chance to win the Contest.
What kind of design is The Illustrati looking for?
We would like you to submit anything you want, as long as it’s your original artwork, and does not contain profanity, trademarks, logos and copyrighted works or intellectual property of any 3rd parties.
Do I keep ownership of my design if it is selected?
(THIS IS SO IMPORTANT SO PLEASE READ)
The Illustrati also has the right to the design for use on the theillustrati.com website, to print it in the winners magazine and on any theillustrati.com promotional materials.
The artist keeps the ownership of the submitted design and may display or archive his/her own design in a portfolio or personal collection and the artist may sell or reproduce the design for commercial purposes even after it is chosen for production in the magazine.
